Life is More Traveler Reviews

We had a fabulous time and so enjoyed our time sharing experiences with local people in some small pueblos far from the city. Sara put together a truly memorable trip! She had wonderful activities planned and was very open to ideas from the group as to how we might want to spend our free time either solo or as a group. She's a fun loving yet down to earth person who is very responsive and aware of everyone's needs. Would I travel with her again? .....Sign me up!

This wasn’t my first immersion in Mexico, but I have to say that this time, I felt the culture all around me. I’d recommend having at least an intermediate level of Spanish [for the immersion tour in Spanish] to fully appreciate the rich and authentic Mexican atmosphere—you can't escape it! It was such a gift to absorb the richness of Oaxaca, from streets filled with the scent of tortillas, coffee, and cacao, to the peaceful beauty of the surrounding mountains.

With so much history in every corner, having knowledgeable and friendly guides was key to the success of the trip. I never felt like I was being talked at, boxed in, or pushed toward certain interpretations or fun facts—they offered a variety of perspectives with openness and respect. Some of my favorite memories were the moments when Zapotec women, with such patience and kindness, welcomed us into their daily work. They let us take part in preparing incredibly delicious food and gave us a glimpse into their way of life.

If you’re eager to deepen your understanding of Mexican culture, this experience is absolutely perfect. Whether you want to actively practice Spanish or just enjoy the living culture at your own pace, you’ll find yourself in a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment.

10/10 — It exceeded all of my expectations.

My cultural immersion tour with Life is More was truly unforgettable. Everything felt thoughtfully planned to create real connections with local artisans and communities, not just the usual tourist spots. We learned so much about traditional art, history, and food, and we practiced Spanish every day with people who were kind and patient. Everyone spoke clearly to help us understand and made us feel comfortable asking questions.

Each day included a cultural activity with really great local guides, and the house we stayed in was absolutely stunning, super comfortable, and had everything we needed. The restaurants we went to were fantastic, and I loved the cooking classes, and the dinner a professional chef from Casa Oaxaca prepared for us at the house.

This experience deepened my understanding of Mexico and helped me improve my Spanish. I’ve already recommended it to friends who are learning Spanish, and I can confidently say that if you’re considering it, you should absolutely give it a try.
